Music has always shown up when I needed it most. It started as something I enjoyed, but over time it became much more than a hobby. It became a source of comfort, a way to process life, and eventually, a purpose.
Growing up in band, music was part of my everyday world. I marched on the field, learned the saxophone, practiced difficult fingerings, and slowly figured out how to read music one note at a time. Those early years taught me discipline, patience, and commitment. They also taught me that music can say things that are sometimes hard to put into words.
From Band Room to Digital Sound
My foundation will always make be in traditional music. I came up in band rooms with instruments, sheet music, rehearsals, and the kind of practice that requires you to keep showing up even when it is frustrating.
As I got older, technology opened up new possibilities for me. Learning to use digital tools, recording software, and production techniques gave me more freedom to create. I could take the skills I learned through traditional musicianship and shape them into something more personal and current.
Technology did not take away from the art for me. It gave me another way to express it. It allowed me to write, record, and build songs in a way that feels true to who I am.
That journey led me to a moment I am proud to share: my first independent EP, From the Ground Up.
Music as Healing
Creating this project was personal. Life comes with challenges, loss, change, and moments that can leave you feeling stuck. Music gave me a place to put those feelings.
Writing and creating these songs became part of my healing process. Some days, it was the only way I knew how to make sense of what I was carrying. Turning those emotions into melodies, rhythms, and lyrics reminded me why I fell in love with music in the first place.
Music connects people. It can make you feel seen, even by someone you have never met. It can hold space for pain, joy, growth, and hope all at once.

I want this EP to be about more than my own story. I want it to give back.
Communities across Washington State have been affected by devastating wildfires. Families have lost homes, routines, and a sense of stability. Recovering from something like that takes time, resources, and support from people who care.
For every sale of From the Ground Up, $1 will be donated to Washington State wildfire relief efforts.
